Garden Grace

We have been getting along just fine during quarantine. This is Kila, my fluffy cinnamon roll. She's been enjoying all the time I've been home and able to cuddle with me while I have meetings with work and do other things.

The meetings are done today, though. Starting Sunday I will officially be furloughed, but they have guaranteed us our normal pay when we return. In the mean time though, my husband is going to pick up some contract labor work, and depending on how many days he's gone will determine if I go into that work as well.

So, she's just going to have to cuddle me during homework time now!

I did manage to finish my garden though! It has been a while since I have had enough time to get my hands in some dirt and it was very nice to get everything planted. This is my first year having strawberries too, so I am very excited to see how it goes.

Later this week we are going to put up some lighting on the ceiling of the patio so we can be out there at night.

We are also finally making our house a home and hanging things on the walls! Only took us over a year to do it...

Started off the day with an awesome breakfast with my family.

Hot Topic informed us that we will be closing our doors between today and the 31st, due to the outbreak. So, I am very happy to take some much wanted time off.
Time that I feel like is best spent surrounded by furry love and playing multiplayer games with my husband. We are looking forward to the three full days that neither of us have any obligations during.
On a side note, we did go to Sam's Club to get a few things for the in-laws, and man-oh-man does it look like the apocalypse has happened! Panic buying does not lie about what people hate: Campbell's Chunky New England Calm Chowder, and Almond Flour.

Hello everyone,

I'm not sure about you guys but my day has been absolute trash. Unfortunately, I had the pleasure of helping my general manager determine the solo surviver of our lay off spree. Helping make this kind of a decision was not easy and I feel a bit shameful that my position was only secured due to my position as an assistant manager. We went from 13 staff members to 3. I hope we get over this COVID-19 thing quickly.

Kit Kisses

Day Three of the Outbreak

Today was a lazy day with my Velcro dog.
(If you want to see more of this blond cutie then you can follow her on Instagram @kittastraphy. And yes, shameless plug is shameless.)

Work has cut back on hours, the mall informing us that it will only be open from 1100 to 1800; so, that will be a nice reprieve for me on top of classes being out.

Perhaps Day Four will bring something more entertaining then frustration at the panicking sheeple.

Day 1 of coronabreak

My wife and I cut the Mexican feather grass. Backbreaking!

Why isn’t anyone posting what’s going on in their lives?

Over the 3 week break, keep us up-to-date

Hi, all.
I don't want to lose all of the progress and momentum we've gained over the last 8 weeks, so I'm going to create a blog (on Blogger bc/ gmail) so that over the next few weeks, we can stay in touch and share what's going on with:
our living situation
our health situation
our work situation
our life situation
our grocery situation
any other situation
If any of us run into trouble, we might have information that can help.
I am going to invite all of you as soon as you send me your gmail addresses. DO NOT REPLY to this email. Send me your gmail address to ctylerjohnson@unm.edu, and I'll add all of you as editors/contributors.
